Former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit passes away

Dikshit served as the Chief Minister of Delhi from 1998 to 2013. She was the second woman chief minister of Delhi.  She also represented the Kannauj Parliamentary Constituency in Uttar Pradesh. She also served as Governor of Kerala in March 2014.

However, she resigned in August 2014. Dikshit, was appointed as president of the Delhi Congress in January after Ajay Maken stepped down.

Dixit’s last rites will be performed tomorrow at 2.30 in at Nigam Bodh Ghat in New Delhi.

VICE PRESIDENT M VENKAIH NAIDU EXPRESSES GRIEF

Expressing his sorrow over demise of Shield Dixit, Vice President M Venkaih Naidu said that “I express my profound sorrow and grief over the demise of former Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit today. She was a good administrator.”

PM MODI EXTENDS CONDOLENCE OVER SHEILA DIKSHIT’S DEMISE

PM Narendra Moi has condoled the demise of former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit. In his tweet PM said that: Deeply saddened by the demise of Sheila Dikshit Ji. RAJNATH SINGH OFFERS CONDOLENCE OVER DEMISE OF SHEILA DIKSHIT

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in his condolence message said that “The passing away of former Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Sheila Dixit is deeply saddening. UNION MINISTER MUKHTAR ABBAS NAQVI REMEMBERS SHIELA DIKSHIT

Expressing his condolence, Union Minority Affairs Minister and senior BJP leader, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that Shiela Dixit’s political career is an inspiration for people of the country.

BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussein also expressed his condolence.
