PM Modi called on President Ram Nath Kovind yesterday and tendered him and his Council of Ministers’ resignations. The President accepted the resignation and asked the Prime Minister and his Council of Ministers to continue till a new government is formed.
President Ram Nath Kovind later dissolved the 16th Lok Sabha. The Cabinet at its meeting held yesterday had advised the President to dissolve the House with immediate effect. An official communique from Rashtrapati Bhawan said the President has accepted the advice of the Cabinet.
