CBI quizzes Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar for over 40 hours

CBI interrogated Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar for more than 40 hours in the last four days in connection with the Saradha chit-fund scam.

Sources said the Kolkata Police Chief had written to the CBI to give him a ‘break’ so that he can prepare a reply to the contempt petition filed in the Supreme Court against him and two other senior officers by February 18.  It may be mentioned that the CBI moved the contempt petition in the Supreme Court against him on February 4 for alleged non cooperation on the Saradha chit-fund scam.

Meanwhile, the investigating officer of the Rose Valley scam, Chozom Sherpa told media on Tuesday morning that she was not involved in the questioning. The CBI quizzed the Kolkata Police Chief regarding the said scam.
