National Commission for Women issues notice to Rahul Gandhi

National Commission for Women took strong notice of alleged derogatory comments by Congress President Rahul Gandhi against Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The NCW has issued a notice to the Congress President over his remarks.

NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma has said that the commission has asked for an explanation from Rahul Gandhi on why he said what he said in tweets.

NCW chief has termed the statement pathetic, sexist & misogynistic. That is the reason the commission has sent him a notice. NCW has demanded an explanation as to what Rahul means when he is trying to talk low of women.

Rahul Gandhi in his statement had said, “PM ran away and asked a Mahila (a woman) to defend him. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj too reacted sharply to Rahul Gandhi’s Comments, calling it a new low in India Politics.

Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had termed Rahul Gandhi’s statement as highly insulting to women.
