Prime Minister joins Bohra community in ‘Ashara Mubaraka’ in Indore

PM will also address the gathering.

The event also included speeches by Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin – spiritual head of the Dawoodi Bohra community, and the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Lakhs of devout Muslims gather every year in Indore to be a part of this 10-day long period that sees the community mourn the killing of Prophet Mohommad’s grandson and his family at Karbala. 

Prime Minister joined in in the recitation of the Marsiya recreating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Husain and his companions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honoured by Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin – spiritual head of the Dawoodi Bohra community. He was given a shawl and prayer beads or Tasbih. He then accepted the greetings of the thousands gathered at the Saifee Mosque in Indore.
