PM Modi stresses on reviving traditional rural games

The Prime Minister also re-iterated his call on Fit India campaign, which has got an overwhelming response on Social Media.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Mann Ki Baat edition on Sunday re-iterated his call on Fit India campaign, which has got a wonderful response on Social Media. From film personalities and sportspersons to common people, from school teachers to farmers…people have come forward to support it in huge numbers.

The Prime Minister said that India’s  inherent unity in diversity is manifested in its traditional sports. He added that while sports does not merely teach us to play, it also imparts values and also also teach us how to achieve goals.

Prime Minister Modi recalled his childhood days, in Gujarat, when he used to play Chomal Isto. He also mentioned games like gilli danda and Kite flying. PM Modi has urged schools, localities and youth organizations to come forward to promote the traditionally sports for overall personality development.
