Cabinet approves  three major infrastructure projects

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved continuation of government’s Umbrella Scheme ‘Green Revolution- Krishonnati Yojana’ in Agriculture Sector. Addressing media persons, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that under this, eleven schemes have been brought under one umbrella scheme.

CCEA also approved restructuring of Multi-Sectoral Development Programme for its continuation during remaining period of 14th Finance Commission as Pradhan Mantri Jan VikasKaryakram. This programme will benefit minority community of the country.

CCEA also approved financial assistance to sugar mills for clearing cane dues of farmers.

The Cabinet also approved extension of investment under the Pradhan Mantri VayaVandan Yojana as part of Government’s commitment for financial inclusion and social security. Under this, up to Rs 10,000 pension will be enabled for senior citizens.

The Cabinet gave its nod to continuation of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana beyond 12th Five Year Plan for a period 2017-18 to 2019-20. Under this 20 new AIIMS and up-gradation of 73 medical college will be undertaken.

The cabinet approved three major infrastructure projects – new terminal buildings at Guwahati, Chennai and Lucknow airports. The decision has been taken with regard to government’s commitment to augment the airport capacity and facilities to match the 20% passenger growth rate and for constantly improving your air-travel experience.
