Addressing the International Labour Day Programme at Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra, New Delhi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the efforts are being made to formulate long terms policy for the benefit of workers in unorganized sector. He stressed on the need to safeguard the interests of the workers to avoid exploitation
Union Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar said that the present NDA government has been engaged in expediously reviewing the existing labour laws.
The minister reiterated the government commitment to safeguard the interest of the workers in unorganized sector and bringing them in the social security net
On International labour day, Ministry of Labor and Employment also awarded various ogranistations, who are working for the welfare of workers and laboureres.
Besides, many beneficiaries were also given cash incentives under various schemes launched by the centre for the welfare of workers and laboureres..
Mewhile, the union government is in the process of making important changes in the many labour laws that have been in force for past many decades.

Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also said that there is a need to take long term measures for the welfare of workers of unorganised sector. The two ministers were addressing a gathering in New Delhi on the occasion of Labour day.
