Modi meets US Congressional leadership

Washington, June 8 (IANS) Ahead of his speech to a joint sitting of the US Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met with the Congressional leadership.

“Advancing the dialogue of democracies. PM Narendra Modi meets the Congressional leadership at Capitol Hill,” External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

As he arrived at Capitol Hill, the Prime Minister was received by House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan.

Modi will be the fifth Indian Prime Minister after Rajiv Gandhi, P.V. Narasimha Rao, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh to address the US Congress.
