Dortmund, Sevilla pursue Brazil defender Caio

Rio de Janeiro, June 5 (IANS) Brazil defender Rodrigo Caio is being sought by German football club Borussia Dortmund and Spanish outfit Sevilla, according to media reports.

Dortmund officials are currently in Brazil for talks with with representatives for Caio and his club Sao Paulo, the Sambafoot news portal said on Saturday, according to Xinhua.

Caio, who can also play as a holding midfielder, is currently with the national team for the Centenary edition of the Copa America in the United States.

The 24-year-old made his international debut in Brazil’s 2-0 friendly victory over Panama last week.

Last year Sao Paulo announced that Caio had signed with Valencia but the deal collapsed when he reportedly failed a medical examination.
