Delhi Dynamos FC on Sunday signed former France and Chelsea winger Florent Malouda for the second season of the Indian Super League (ISL).
The signing, claimed a Dynamos release, was one of a kind as this is the first time that an announcement has been broadcasted worldwide during an English Premier League match. At the West Brom vs Chelsea pre-match show, Malouda spoke with TV host John Dykes about his new club. Malouda was unveiled with a welcome message on the LED boards at The Hawthorns. The fleet-footed footballer is known for his dribbling and creativity. The winger was not only the chief architect for his national team, but also pitched in with crucial goals throughout his illustrious career with Lyon and Chelsea.
Malouda said, “I am extremely excited to join forces with Roberto Carlos. India has great football talent and a league like ISL will create a certain amount of interest and help develop the game. I look forward to giving my best and making the Delhi fans proud.”
