Nestle India approaches Bombay HC against regulatory orders

In the recent past, FSSAI has pointed out violations of three safety standards – excessive lead, misleading labeling and launch of Maggi Oats Noodles.

Nestle India  has finally decided to hit back at Indian regulators. It has approached the Bombay High Court to seek review of orders passed by the Maharashtra FDA and the Foods Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI).

Nestle has raised the issue of interpretation of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2011.

Meanwhile, it is continuing to withdraw Maggi noodles from the market.

In the recent past, FSSAI has pointed out violations of three safety standards – excessive lead, misleading labeling and launch of Maggi Oats Noodles. It went on to call Maggi noodles ‘unsafe and hazardous’ for human consumption. Nestle is seeking judicial review of the FDA and FSSAI order.
