PE investors look to sell stake in Viom Towers

Viom investors are also lamenting lack of headway in talks for sale of controlling stake. Meanwhile, American Tower Company (ATC) that was reportedly close to signing a deal worth USD 900 million – 1 billion for 51 percent stake in Viom Network has backed out of the deal citing high valuations.

PE investors that hold 30 percent in Viom Towers are getting edgy. They are looking to sell stake independently without involving majority investors – Tata Group and Srei Infra . They have decided to take this step after the USD 1.5 billion sale of Viom Towers hit multiple roadblocks leading to delays.

Viom investors are also lamenting lack of headway in talks for sale of controlling stake. Meanwhile, American Tower Company (ATC) that was reportedly close to signing a deal worth USD 900 million – 1 billion for 51 percent stake in Viom Network has backed out of the deal citing high valuations.

Srei Infra on its part is in no hurry to sell stake in Viom and is in the process of exploring all options including IPO and equity dilution. It is also in talks with various investors to explore sale possibilities.

When contacted, Viom refused to comment on market speculation and PE investors did not comment as per policy.
