Self-employment Schemes: Age Limit for Minorities Relaxed in TS

Education News The state government received recommendations for increasing the age of eligibility from 21 to 55 years for minorities. Already Backward Class Welfare and Tribal Welfare departments have revised the eligibility for BCs and tribals.

The government on Thursday relaxed the age of applicants of bank linked subsidy cum loan scheme from 21 to 55 years in respect of minority candidates on par with BCs and tribal candidates.

The vice-chairman and managing director of Minorities Finance Corporation and Christian Minorities Finance Corporation and all district collectors are requested to seek applications for bank linked subsidy cum loan scheme from eligible minority candidates, through online up to March 27 and to process the applications for sanction as was done in previous years, the orders said.

Individuals within the age limit of 21 to 55 years (criteria for age proof is SSC certificate, Aadhar card, voter Id card, ration card, etc.) are eligible. In case of HIV victims, the age limit is permitted up to 45 years.
