SC restrains govt from issuing licences to winning telcos

The SC has said spectrum auctions would be subject to court orders, and has asked the government to submit the bidding details to it.

In a setback for the government, the Supreme Court has restrained the government from issuing telecom licences to successful bidders in the recent spectrum auctions.

The SC has said spectrum auctions would be subject to court orders, and has asked the government to submit the bidding details to it.

The Court has ordered to transfer pending cases from various courts to it, and said that bidders cannot claim any right post the auctions.
The court has ordered that the auctions set to commence from Marc 4 can go as scheduled, and that it will hear the pleas of telecom companies on March 26.
