Mkt may be in volatile phase for next 6 months: IIFL

Incrementally in the very near term, risk reward may not be that favourable, says Nem Kumar of IIFL. However, the market will continue to give some periodic opportunities if one takes a 3-5 year kind of a view to look at equity investments to enhance weightages in equities.

In the next six months, the market may be in for a volatile phase, is the word coming in from Nem Kumar of IIFL. Incrementally in the very near term, risk reward may not be that favourable, he says. However, the market will continue to give some periodic opportunities if one takes a 3-5 year kind of a view to look at equity investments to enhance weightages in equities.

He believes this Budget is going to be extremely crucial to ensure that investment cycle turns around. According to him, at this point in time, the spur has to come from public spend. “Private sector capex is unlikely to pick up anytime soon, given the fact that commodity prices have come down, demand is weak, there is still over capacity over industries… So my biggest expectation from this Budget is that they should spend enough to spur a capex on the public side,” he told CNBC-TV18.
