Sources said that JNTU Kakinada has already been asked to make necessary arrangements and evolve a fool-proof mechanism to conduct the exam akin to what JNTU Hyderabad has been doing for the past several years. A draft report of the JNTU Kakinada will be placed before the Cabinet on February 2, when it meets. If the draft report is approved, an announcement will be made on the same day itself by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
On Friday, AP HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that a final announcement will be made in the Cabinet meet on Monday. Andhra Pradesh government also threatened lawsuits against the State Bank of Hyderabad, the principal banker to the Telangana government, for freezing the assets of the AP State Council of Higher Education.
Telangana State Council of Higher Education had asked banks to freeze the accounts of APSCHE after a deadlock over bifurcation of assets of APSCHE couldn’t be resolved. “How can they just freeze the accounts of APSCHE without even a notice? We will take legal action against the bank,” Mr Rao said.
