In united AP APSCHE was the competent authority while JNTU-H was conducting the exam on behalf of APSCHE. The university has conducted the exam 16 times till now. It is learnt that the Governor has offered to oversee the common exam with institutions that conducted the previous Eamcet doing so again.
There is a suggestion that JNTU-H be allowed to conduct the Eamcet and Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) be made the competent authority. There is also a suggestion that the seven other CETs should be given to the universities which last conducted them and the respective Council of Higher Education should be the competent authority.
All these CETs would be overseen by the Governor. But again there are concerns whether the AP government will agree to JNTU-H conducting the common Eamcet under TSCHE. A similar offer was made for Intermediate exams but the AP government didn’t agree. Sources also said that these issues need to be resolved by the end of the month for the smooth conduct of Eamcet next year.
