On Friday, around 17 companies, including Ericsson, General Motors, Robert Bosch, Mercedes Benz, HSBC, Saint Gobain, Myntra Designs, visited IIT-Bombay. While HSBC picked 12 students, Robert Bosch hired eight. Flipkart came back to the campus on Friday to pick more students. It had already made close to 20 offers on the third day. At IIT-B, the packages offered were in the range of Rs 12 lakh. Placement co-ordinator Mohak Mehta claimed that 620 offers (excluding the pre-placement offers) received were the highest ever on campus. Oracle, Facebook, Google and Microsoft offered the best packages in the last five days. While Facebook was close to 1.4 crore per year, Oracle made an offer of Rs 1.8 crore, considering the stock options.
At Kanpur, companies continued to come in large numbers on Day 5, taking up the total selections to around 600. About 70 students got placed with top firms, including Tata Steel and Axtria Consulting. Last year during the same period (of five days), some 350 students had been placed
