The party romped to a majority in Haryana while emerging as the single-largest party in Maharastra, far ahead of its erstwhile partner Shiv Seva, or rivals Congress and BJP.

While the BJP has said it is yet to make up its mind on how it would proceed to form the government in Maharashtra (the Shiv Sena appears to be in the mood for playing ball while the NCP, surprisingly, has also offered unconditional outside support), it has become clear that it was the Narendra Modi wave has continued with its momentum.

The Congress, still recovering from its biting loss in May, has said anti-incumbency worked against it and that it would introspect on how to build back support.
