Prospective students seeking admission into degree and post graduate courses in law from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam were the most hit. The district administration of Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram had declared a general holiday for all educational institutions, and therefore the LAWCET counseling could not take off at Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam districts. LAWCET convener Prof V R C Krishnaiah said while counseling did not take place in Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam, it had already begun at Nagarjuna University in Guntur. Students from West Godavari district were reportedly not able to reach the counseling centre at Guntur, as movement of traffic was suspended towards Vijayawada as well as Visakhapatnam from Saturday night due to the cyclone warning, predicting heavy winds and rains.
Krishnaiah said the students seeking admission into LLB, BL and LLM from coastal Andhra Pradesh need not worry about this and they could get their certificates verified and exercise web options till October 15. Meanwhile, the LAWCET counseling has begun at three centers in Hyderabad, Kakatiya University in Warangal, Sri Krishna Devaraya University in Anantapur and Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati.
