Clean India, buy khadi: PM tells citizens in radio address

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today made his first radio address, reaching out to millions across the country with no access to television. Here are the top highlights:

1) PM urges all citizens to join the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’, says let us pledge to remove dirt.

2) Buy at least one Khadi product. If you buy even one Khadi article you help light the lamp of prosperity in the house of a poor person.

3) Many people wrote to me about starting skill development early, that is a good suggestion. Gautam Pal wrote to me about differently abled children. We need to implement schemes for these children. I am going to work on these suggestions.

4) This nation belongs to everyone. It is important for the people to be a part of the development journey. If everyone takes one step forward, the country will take 125 crore steps forward.

5) I am really happy to be talking to you on the Radio. I can reach all of you through Radio, especially our poor, the villages. I’ll try to speak to you twice a month on Sunday at 11 am.
