The Minister further said there were in all 42 lakh students in government schools and as high as 42 per cent of them were children belonging to the SC and ST. The government aimed to provide quality education as in corporate schools. “We are also providing visual education in residential schools. Selected best teachers would take classes in Mathematics, Science and English. We are also planning a computer-aided instruction,” he disclosed.
On the incidents of missing students and anti-social activities in social welfare hostels, Kishore Babu admitted that all was not well there. “That is why; we want to take preventive measures. We are also asking the outsourcing agency, who would provide staff like cooks and cleaners, to check the antecedents of the employees and make them sign a bond to ensure responsible behaviour and accountability.
