Maoists torch EVM, vehicle during polling in Visakhapatnam

HYDERABAD: Maoists burned an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and a vehicle in the agency area of Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday during the polling for second phase of Lok Sabha and assembly elections.A group of Maoists burned the EVM and a vehicle at Palakagidi of Koyyuru Mandal in the district before fleeing, according to a senior police official.

“Following this incident, repolling has been ordered at the polling station,” the official said.
